On Thursday, Nov. 14, 2003, CCC Board of Directors members assembled on campus. After attending chapel and mixing with the student body, they convened their meetings.

Many students know very little, if anything, about the school's Board of Directors, listed briefly on page 178 of the 2003-2004 CCC Catalog.

Several members are CCC alumnae: Cleo Shaw, a real estate agent from Oviedo, Fla., is the Secretary for the Executive Committee; a businessman from Evans, Ga., Mr. David Foreman is also an alumnus.

A number of pastors serve on the Board. Don Strange, Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee, has pastored at Winkler Road Baptist in Ft. Myers, Fla., for many years. Bud Calvert pastors Fairfax Baptist Temple in Fairfax, Va. Both churches have students currently attending Clearwater.

Two members are Air Force chaplains. Mr. Joseph McClanahan, a retired chaplain from Valrico, Fla., spoke in chapel this past Veteran's Day, and has sent his children to school at CCC. Son-in-law of board member Ronald Workman, Mr. George T. Youstra, also the son of President Emeritus Dr. George D. Youstra, is a chaplain from Surprise, Ariz.

Also serving is businessman Robert Garrett, who lives in Anderson, South Carolina.

Homemaker Mrs. Kathy Hildebrand, a very politically active Republican and mother of three sons, is from Snellville, Georgia.

Richard McCarrell is pastor of Genison Bible Church in Hudsonville, Michigan.

Retired builder Walter Rumminger is from Anderson, S.C.; he has been able to take part in frequent missions trips.

Mr. Joseph Smith is a Career Counselor at St. Petersburg College; the Smiths are from Largo, Fla., and have two children, one of whom is a daughter Jewel who is a student here at CCC.

Mr. Ronald Workman from White Cloud, Mich., is founder of Interim Missions, which sends retired pastors to lead struggling churches until they find permanent leadership.

Other members of the Board of Directors include Chairman of the Executive Committee, Clay Custer, an attorney from Greenville, S.C. and of course, Dr. Richard Stratton, CCC's president.

The administration often expresses its appreciation to the members of the Board of Directors for their service to the college.
