What you may not know is his nickname! When he was a little kid, his family called him Keck. The nickname originated out of the necessity to distinguish him from other relatives whose names were also Ken. Of course, we should all think twice before calling him Keck.
Having worked at CCC for over 9 years, Mr. Hess described his career here at CCC as a door to new opportunities. "Working in a college environment has given me greater opportunities to interact with students, as well as requiring me to deal with difficult situations of discipline with those who are personally struggling."
Mr. Hess enjoys talking about his personal hobbies collecting shark's teeth, antique postcards, and Dickens' houses. Mr. Hess also has a special interest in lighthouses. His office is full of pictures of lighthouses that he took around the country. Of the places he has visited, Cape Cod and Seattle have beautiful lighthouses.
Mr. Hess and his family enjoy having students over to their home. Even though students graduate and leave the college family, he still keeps in touch with quite a few of them.
Not only does he help students in their walk with God, but students are also an encouragement to his spiritual walk. Mr. Hess says, "Students always challenge me to live a consistent Christian life."
