Although academics and sports are an important part of Clearwater Christian College, the spiritual emphasis is stressed. At the beginning of each semester, the administration brings an evangelist to speak to the student body. This semester, Dr. Jerry Sivnksty was the guest speaker.

As the son of Russian immigrants, Dr. Sivnksty grew up in the hills of West Virginia. After being saved, he attended Bob Jones University in preparation for the ministry. God has been using him for thirty-four years to preach the gospel. Many camps, churches, and schools have invited him to preach over the years. Mrs. Sivnksty almost always travels with her husband as a faithful part of the ministry God has given them. Their three sons are also preparing for evangelism.

Dr. Sivnksty preached five messages to the CCC family. On opening night his challenge was from Matthew 5:16 in his message entitled "Let Your Light So Shine Before Men." After the service, one person accepted Christ for the first time while another affirmed assurance of their salvation.

It is now up to the student body to take heed and apply what Evangelist Sivnksty said and to remain faithful to the Lord, even when their lives experience tension and difficulty.

It is easy to become overwhelmed by classes and extracurricular activities, but if our focus is centered on God, He will help us through those complex times.
