What is the cause of 177 students pushing and shoving into Rehearsal Hall on a Friday night one hour before curfew? IMPROV NIGHT!
Now that the semester is in full swing at CCC, students tend to look forward to the weekends after long weeks of studying hard. The CCC Drama Club gave comic relief to weary students on Friday, September 17.
Masses of students made their way to Rehearsal Hall for a night of laughter, food, and fun. This show's attendance number hit a record high. There was standing room only by show time. All of the proceeds, an astounding $450, went to support hurricane relief for the surrounding area in Florida.
The entertainment was provided by the hilarious improvisational skills of Matt Auger, Phil Bowen, Dustin Black, Shannon Hitchcock, Nathan Burggraff, and Nick Kirkland.
This group of characters put on a fantastic show filled with skits and games that encouraged audience participation. They played around with switch, the script game, slide show, and the party game.
However, the actors were not the only ones involved with putting Improv Night together. Many students worked countless hours in preparation for this event. Rebekah Stephens decorated the entire Rehearsal Hall, while Alesha Terry organized the refreshments.
A few dozen other volunteer students helped out by setting up furniture, serving refreshments, decorating, and much more. It took teamwork and dedication to put on this event.
If you missed this Improv Night, relax. There will be another chance this semester to attend a new performance in October. See the Guide for scheduled dates.
