It seems to me that the hurricanes and power outages may actually be good things. If you'll sit back and read, you'll understand why I suggest such a strange idea.
The power outages caused a loss of computer instant messaging, emails, video games, and television. However, they did make time for the old-time fun of playing games like Monopoly, Sorry, and Life. Considering it takes 10 hours to finish one game of Monopoly, you'll most likely be able to play 5 or more games before the power comes on. How exciting.
Also, air conditioning was only a memory. Who needs air anyway? I, for one, have found it fun to sit in my room countless hours at a time in blistering heat. It's a good way to lose weight.
Of course, power outages meant that you could not charge your cell phone. I made up a great game that goes well with this situation. First, choose two of your roommates to perform this activity with you. Second, charge your cell phones all the way up before the hurricane comes. Finally, keep all the phones on and see whose phone lasts the longest. Actually, the game is fun when two of you conspire to trick the other roommate by charging your own cell phones the whole time.
Finally, the best part of the hurricane is to go outside and find a big tree that has fallen. Get a friend to lift the tree and put your body underneath it and take a picture. Immediately send the picture to your parents.
All right, fine. None of these ideas are good. Power outages and hurricanes are not cool. Well, that body under the tree thing is still pretty funny.
