Entering the working world is intimidating, but some seniors are taking the step with confidence in the strength of God and with the excellent foundation they have received at Clearwater Christian College.
Dayna Jessup, a senior who completed her Accounting degree in three years, is just beginning her career. While concluding her final weeks of college, she accepted and began working at MarineMax as their accounting clerk. "My classes completely prepared me to handle the duties presented on the job," she comments.
Senior Holley Vanaman, a physical education major, is also venturing out into the workplace. Come August, she will marry her fiancé and become an elementary P.E. teacher and coach. "God gave me the perfect job for this phase of my life," she expresses. She has seen God's goodness in providing her with a job so quickly after graduation and one near her fiance's family.
Not all seniors are convinced of what their next move in life is. Nate Nekvasil, a transfer student, is presently considering entering the Peace Corps. If so, he may leave for Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia sometime in late August. He confides, "This is a huge commitment, which is why I hesitate. However, I know this will be the experience of a lifetime should I choose to accept." Whatever direction he goes, he carries with him his education and God's leading.
Inevitably, change will always bring uneasiness at first. But one can learn from the testimonials above, the exhilaration from change can far outweigh the uncertainty. Whether the future is clear or hazy for members of the 2005 graduating class, one thing is certain: one cannot go wrong with a college education and a desire to live for the glory of God.
