On Tuesday night, March 7, as a culmination her music education major at CCC, Rachel Madoushek gave her senior piano recital, under the direction of Dr. Craig Ralston.
Rachel played "British Folk Music Settings No. 19" by Perry Grainger, Bach's Baroque piece "Prelude and Fugue No. 6 in D Minor" followed by Faye Lopez's arrangement of "Have You Any Room For Jesus?" Then she played Beethoven's "Sonata in E Flat Major, Op. 30, No. 3" and Franz Liszt's "Annees de Peleringe II" from the Romantic period.
The recital ended with an Impressionistic piece by Maurice Ravel "Alborada Del Gracioso." Her encore was "The Dusty Rag Song."
Senior music major Stephen Holmes commented,
"Another poised performance by Rachel. She possesses a remarkable affinity for playing in contrasting styles."
Rachel's fiancee, Kyle Russell, was quite proud: "She diligently practiced for a year and a half for this recital, and was able to perform several very difficult musical masterpieces with ease."
