The smell of desserts filled the air and helped students enjoy a little bit of home away from home. On Monday, September 11, the college held its annual "Home Sweet Home" dinner.
This event has been a favorite of students, past and present. Faculty and staff prepared a variety of sweets to bring to the dessert table so that students could choose a special treat to enjoy.
Home Sweet Home is supposed to remind students of home. As students entered the dining hall, they met a friendly face at the door, offering them a warm welcome and a York peppermint patty.
Students began to feel like guests as they were treated to a home-cooked meal of fried chicken, and topped off with those much anticipated desserts.
Usually, desserts disappear quickly, and this year was no exception. With students' bellies full and Cathcart filled to capacity, this year's event served another round of cheer, sending students back to their dorms or off to their Monday night classes after a little taste of home.
