It is often difficult for students to connect on a deep level with their professors. This is completely understandable, because at times students barely know anything about the professor.

This is the first of a spring series on new faculty and staff members on the Clearwater Christian College campus. This issue will focus on the new Physical Science teacher, Mrs. Michelle Newell.

Newell is married to David Newell and has two young boys, Owen and Ethan. Owen is two years old and Ethan is ten months old.

Mrs. Newell has many interests. "I teach Group Fitness Classes for Shapes Total Fitness for Women," Mrs. Newell said. "Right now, I teach Yoga and Kickboxing. I also sub for other people when asked teaching Pilates, Sculpt, and total fitness." WOW.

Along with teaching two completely different subjects, Mrs. Newell also has her master's degree in Public Health from the University of South Florida. She earned her Bachelor's in Biology from Tennessee Temple University.

Finally, about teach science, Mrs. Newell said "Probably the most exciting would be when a student who thought science was boring and confusing discovers that it can be fun and understandable. Oh, doing labs with students is a close second on the exciting scale."
