It is a blessing to be able to be athlete while studying at Clearwater Christian College. In every aspect the teams say they have seen God's guiding hand and outpouring love. This year's Lady Cougar Soccer Team has been one of the many examples of this.

Coming from a weak season last year, the Lady Cougars are hard at work, preparing for a successful season ahead. The team is thanking God for the way he has blessed the program with so many new things.

Strong returners have the potential of leading the team to victory. The new incoming soccer players may well prove to be a huge help in thrusting the team into a competitive season.

After the loss of six players from last year's team, and the move to a new coach, Stephen Milton, the Lady Cougars were anxious to see what the Lord had in mind for them this year. According to the coach and team, God has given them abundantly over and above anything they could ask or think.

Leading the team as head coach, Milton has given the team the complete turn around it needed. Not only putting in hours of preparation, and hours of seeking out wisdom and skill-building drills from some top soccer coaches, he has also connected with the team as a friend, enabling the team to have an effective unity at the beginning of a new season. According to some of the team members, Milton has knowledge of the game, and an ability to help every player reach her potential. Fans have noted an amazing transformation in the team.

Milton is not alone in his endeavors. He is aided by Chad Heffelfinger, a graduate of Clearwater Christian College, and a former Cougar soccer player. According to team members, Chad has been a remarkable assistant coach.

Coach Milton says Heffelfinger's patience with the girls, while teaching them techniques and running drills, has been incredible. Team members note Heffelfinger's great dedication to the team. They say they are privileged to have him as a part of the coaching staff.

The Lady Cougars played their first game against the CCC alumni soccer players. The current team said it was not only fun to spend time with all the former CCC players, but was a great opportunity to seek out their advice on areas of weakness.

A full schedule has been posted on the college web page, www.clearwater.edu. The team said it would be a privilege to have Angle readers at the games this season. The Lady Cougars say it is encouraging to have fans attend their games! They also ask for prayers as they enter a long season.
