CCC Professor Finishes Doctorate
Dr. Ian Duncan completes accounting degree

Duncan began his doctoral study program in 2003 at Argosy University, Sarasota Campus. His coursework and comprehensives took about three years, the last three years spent on his doctoral research and writing his dissertation. Duncan defended his dissertation in the fall of 2009.
Professor Duncan's university career began in 1969. Upon graduation from high school, he attended York University in Toronto, Canada. He graduated from York University in 1972, with a bachelor's degree in Math and Computer Science. Continuing his education, Duncan then attended York University's Schulich School of Business.
In 1974, Duncan graduated with his MBA, majoring in Organizational Behavior and Management Science. Then he studied accounting, earning his professional CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation in 1978.
Duncan has used his accounting expertise in the business world and as a college professor. Continuing to further his education, Duncan is presently finishing a Master's in Project Management that he says he will complete in March.
The educator is also working on the last few credits for a Master's in Information Systems Management.
Recently, Duncan's dissertation research was accepted for presentation at the American Institute of Higher Education's 4th International Conference, to be held in Williamsburg, Virginia on March 17-19, 2010.
