In order to attend the Student Global Impact National Conference, in Allen Park, Michigan, a group of students returned from Christmas break early.

The conference, held at Inter-City Baptist Church, hosted 340 college students from all over the nation. SGI is the young adult mobilization department of Missions Mandate, existing to honor God by mobilizing students to discover, develop, and fulfill their role in the Great Commission. The conference has its own website, http://missionsmandate.org/index.php/sgi/.

Dr. Carl Martin, Associate Professor in Bible, drove the students up to Michigan, and also attended the conference. CCC students staying in the Allen Park area met their classmates at the conference.

The conference theme and focus of many of the workshops, "God's Armor: Put it On," intrigued the students.

The students also thoroughly enjoyed the music. According to attendee Luke Harding, as stated in his recent testimony in student body chapel, "The worship was incredible."

The keynote speaker, Matt Hogkinson, Pastor of Ministry Vision for Heritage Bible Church in Greer, SC, also made an impression on the students. Joanna Martin said that "Matt Hogkinson brought new light to Psalms 23."

The CCC students in attendance agreed that the conference was a life-changing experience and recommend that fellow students attend the next conference in January 2012.
