One ministry includes a group of fifteen students who travel to the West Bay Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Oldmar, Fla. The students split into two groups and visit with many of the residents. Each week they usually spend time with the residents, singing hymns and praying with them.
The students readily say that God uses them to encourage the residents; but they also say their work is also an encouragement to the CCC students that visit.
Sophomore Katie Mills, who also enjoys her West Bay ministry, said, "I love visiting and singing with the people. That time is such an enjoyment and a blessing."
One of the ladies they visit every week, Elle, had this to say about the students that come to visit her: "You all are such a blessing to me. You take time out of your week to come and spend time with an old woman when you could be doing something more fun. I thank God every day for each one of you."
Students had already prayed that they would have a chance to be a blessing and an inspiration to residents like Elle, but, as it turns out, it is Elle, and others like her, who have encouraged the students to return.
All students at Clearwater Christian College participate in some kind of Christian service, or ministry, every week.
